PRESENTATION

The III Regional Seminar on Teaching and Ethnic-Racial Relations - Ancestry and Resistance of Afro-Indigenous Peoples, of the Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB) - Campus Sosígenes Costa (Porto Seguro-BA), in this edition, will be a space for the dissemination of knowledge and practices left as legacies by indigenous peoples, Africans and people of African descent who contributed to the social, political and cultural formation of Brazil.

The event will be held online, on the 26th, 27th and 28th of August 2020.

The III Regional Seminar on Teaching and Ethnic-Racial Relations is part of an institutional organization of the Master in Ethnic-Racial Relations (PPGER) of the Federal University of Southern Bahia, a course aimed at the continuing education of professionals in formal and non- formal education, and for people interested in teaching issues in formal and non-formal spaces. The focus of the program is research applied to the area of ​​​​teaching, as well as the guarantee of problematization of Laws nº 10.639/2003 (BRASIL, 2003) as amended by Law nº 11.645/2008 (BRASIL, 2008), which confirms the guidelines and bases of national education, to include in the official curriculum of the education network the mandatory theme “Afro-Brazilian and indigenous history and culture”.
